Agneepath

Genre : Action | Crime | Drama
Runtime : 89 Min

Plot : The story is about a small village, Mandwa where Master Dinanath Chauhan teaches his son the path of fire – Agneepath.

Review : Let me be frank with you that I have not watched the original Big B version. But I have heard about it a lot. It comes out of Dharma Productions and the avatar of Sanjay Dutt is what dragged me to theatre. So my review goes unbiased as I can’t compare.

The start of the movie is impressing and the credit goes to Sanjay Dutt. He is looking just a xerox copy of a devil. There itself the thrill of the movie began to spread which continued with the growing Vijay played by Hritik. He also is looking absolutely stunning as usual. I would like to talk short that the whole first half was entertaining and thrilling with the killings and other violent stuff. The latter half was darker than the first and all the credit goes again to Sanjay Dutt.

Talking about acts, Kancha played by Sanjay is the highlight of the movie as predicted by the posters as well. The whole hype was with respect to him only. But you will find that there is a tough competitor for him in Rauf Lala played by Rishi Kapoor. He has delivered a great performance and he looked all real. Hrithik has done a nice job but I still feel, his voice could have been modified a bit to sound a bit strong. Priyanka Chopra has not much to offer.

The movie if weighed in terms of entertainment is very good. Although I felt that some sequences had no meaning at all. Few things could have been explained further. The love story of Vijay is a worthless attempt and more emphasis should have been laid on the origin of Kancha rather. Also the director seems pretty confused on the basic theme of the movie. As a result it has turned out to be a melodrama in the end. Still the movie stand out to be good and worth watch.

Overall the movie is dark, gruesome and thrilling mixed with the typical Bollywood melodrama. I never felt bored and could hear a lot of cheers from the audience in between. I didn't like the climax though.

Final Verdict : Hrithik fans should go for it definitely. Others also should try it as its really a good movie. Don’t compare Hrithik with Amitabh as he has done well in his part and it’s unfair to compare. Chikni Chameli is definitely screen scorching. Last and not the least, Kancha takes it away.
